Orawell 6 Panel Oral Fluid Drug Test for Fast On-Site Screening

The Orawell 6 Panel Oral Fluid Drug Test is an instant saliva drug screening device designed for convenient, on-site drug testing. It requires only a small oral fluid sample and provides easy-to-read preliminary results in approximately 5 minutes, making it a practical alternative to urine drug screening for many testing programs.

The Orawell mouth swab drug test is designed for non-DOT workplace drug testing, insurance testing, and corrections programs. The test provides qualitative preliminary results indicating the presumptive presence or absence of the drugs being screened. It does not determine or measure impairment or intoxication.

Why Choose an Oral Fluid Drug Test?

Oral fluid drug testing offers a simple collection process without the privacy and collection challenges associated with urine specimens.

The donor collects the specimen while the testing administrator is present, making oral fluid testing an observed collection. This makes specimen substitution or adulteration more difficult while eliminating the need for a same-gender observer typically associated with directly observed urine collections.

For employers and testing programs, the Orawell test provides several advantages:

  • Rapid on-site drug screening
  • Results in approximately 5 minutes
  • Minimal saliva required
  • Simple collection procedure
  • Observed specimen collection
  • No restroom required for collection
  • Reduced opportunity for specimen substitution or adulteration
  • Multiple drug classes screened with one device

Fast, Observed Oral Fluid Collection

The Orawell test uses an integrated oral fluid collection pad, so a separate specimen collection container is not required.

To collect the sample, the donor stimulates saliva flow by rubbing the inside of the cheeks and then positions the collection device under the tongue as directed in the manufacturer’s instructions. Only a small amount of saliva is needed to activate the test.

Because the collection can be observed directly by the test administrator, oral fluid testing provides a convenient option for employers and other organizations that want a rapid drug screening procedure with greater control over the specimen collection process.

Drugs Detected by the Orawell 6 Panel Test

The Orawell oral fluid drug test is available in configurations designed to screen for commonly abused drugs and drug classes.

Item 821 tests for the following panels and their analytes:

  • AMP – Amphetamine
  • COC – Cocaine
  • BZO – Benzodiazepine
  • MAMP – Methamphetamine
  • OPI – Opiates
  • THC – Marijuana

Item 820 tests for the following panels and their analytes:

  • AMP – Amphetamine
  • COC – Cocaine
  • MAMP – Methamphetamine
  • OPI – Opiates
  • PCP – Phencyclidine
  • THC – Marijuana

The methamphetamine panel also detects ecstasy/MDMA according to the current Orawell product information.

How to Read Orawell Oral Fluid Drug Test Results

The Orawell test provides qualitative preliminary drug screening results.

A colored line in the control (C) region indicates that the test has performed properly. If a control line does not appear, the test is invalid and a new test should be performed according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

For an individual drug panel:

  • Control line + test line: presumptive negative result
  • Control line + no test line: presumptive positive result
  • No control line: invalid test

The intensity of a test line may vary. Follow the manufacturer’s product insert when interpreting results.

A presumptive positive screening result does not determine the amount of a drug present and does not establish impairment. Organizations should follow their drug-testing policy and applicable laws regarding confirmation testing and any employment or administrative action based on screening results.

2. How long does the Orawell oral fluid drug test take?

The Orawell oral fluid drug test provides easy-to-read preliminary results in approximately 5 minutes. Only a small amount of saliva is required to activate the test.

3. What drugs does the Orawell 6 Panel Oral Fluid Drug Test detect?

Orawell is available in panel configurations that screen for commonly abused drugs and drug classes. Depending on the selected configuration, available analytes include amphetamines, cocaine, methamphetamine, opiates, THC, PCP and benzodiazepines. 5. Is the Orawell 6 Panel Oral Fluid Drug Test for DOT testing?

No. The Orawell is not an approved DOT oral fluid testing device. It is a preliminary screening test and cannot be sent to a laboratory for analysis. The DOT prohibits the use of rapid saliva screening tests for testing in federally regulated industries.

6. Does an Orawell positive result mean the person is impaired?

7. What happens if an Orawell drug test is presumptive positive?

Organizations should follow their drug-testing policy and applicable legal requirements. When required by the testing program, a presumptive positive screening result should be followed by appropriate laboratory confirmation and review procedures before a final determination is made.

8. Why use oral fluid drug testing instead of urine drug testing?

Oral fluid collections are directly observed, quick to administer, and do not require a restroom. Direct observation also makes specimen substitution and adulteration more difficult than with an unobserved urine collection.

  1. Easy to use

Uses less saliva and the lines are easier to read. Couldn’t find a better price either.
