Mini Alcohol Gas Can
The Mini Alcohol Gas Can is a cost-effective alcohol gas standard for calibrating and conducting accuracy checks on the Alco-Sensor III or Alco-Sensor FST or Alco-Sensor IV green dot and when the device is being used to perform screening tests for non-evidential testing programs. Examples of non-evidential testing program include but are not limited to substance abuse treatment programs, shelters, and halfway houses. Law Enforcement and other such agencies that perform evidential-quality or DOT alcohol testing should only use the evidential-quality Alcohol Gas Tanks for calibration and accuracy checks. Each mini alcohol gas can has enough gas to perform roughly 10 accuracy checks and has a shelf life of 6 months.
Economical Calibration Standard
The Mini Alcohol Gas Can is the most economical, non-evidential dry gas calibration standard available. The Mini Alcohol Cans are ideal for smaller alcohol testing programs that perform a minimal amount of Accuracy Checks each year. Typically these programs have only one or two Alco-Sensors, and do Accuracy Checks once a month. The Mini Alcohol Cans provide an affordable solution to performing Accuracy Checks for these low-volume alcohol testing programs.
Perform Accuracy Checks and Calibration Adjustments
Periodic (at least monthly), Accuracy Checks on the Alco-Sensor III, Alco-Sensor FST and Alco-Sensor IV green dot are strongly recommended to ensure the instrument is working correctly. Performing periodic Accuracy Checks gives the operator and testing subject added assurance on the accuracy of test results. Most Alco-Sensors hold their accuracy for months or even years. However, when an Accuracy Check falls outside of the allowed tolerance range, the operator can perform a Calibration Adjustment using the Mini Alcohol Can in order to bring the instrument back into accuracy range. Hi Richard.
The gas standard varies from can to can, between 0.080 and 0.120. Each can is tested then labeled with specific alcohol value before it ships.

Hello Susan.
Yes. An illustrated accuracy check document can be located on the Alco-Sensor FST page. Click on the calibration tab and scroll down past the accuracy check video. Click the link to open the document.
