Online Calibration Technician Training

This online course teaches calibration theory and the steps for performing a calibration adjustment on an Alco-Sensor breath alcohol device. There are 2 phases to this training. In phase one you will complete an online module and final exam on calibration theory, where you will learn the difference between an accuracy check and calibration adjustment and when to perform them. In phase two, you will schedule a live instructor lead module where you will perform both an accuracy check and calibration adjustment using one of these devices (Alco-Sensor VXL/RBT V, Alco-Sensor IV/RBT IV, Alco-Sensor IV with Memory, Alco-Sensor @Work, AMCC). The live instructor session is conducted using MS Teams.

This course is for students who have taken our BAT training and hold a valid, active Breath Alcohol Technician certificate from AlcoPro and who want to then add the Calibration certification.

• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Calibration Theory
• Understand the steps for performing a calibration adjustment on your Alco-Sensor device
• Perform 1 calibration adjustment in the presence of an instructor
• Perform 1 accuracy check in the presence of an instructor
• Document an accuracy check and calibration adjustment procedure in the calibration logbook

Technical requirements to take this course:

• A computer with speakers and a web camera (built-in or external)
• An internet connection
• This course is best viewed using Google Chrome browser (do not use IE, Edge or Safari browsers to view this course)
• Adobe PDF reader capabilities (recommended to view course documents)

Required supplies for the live Instructor lead training:

• Your Alco-Sensor instrument and 4 mouthpieces
• Tamper-evident tape (required if you are not using tamper proof paper)
• Alcohol gas tank (.038 gas standard)
• Tank regulator
• Calibration logbook sample
