Xylazine Drug Test Strips

Xylazine drug test strips detect xylazine in human urine at 500 ng/mL cutoff levels.  Test results are ready in 5 minutes and each test strip shows easy-to-read test results. An optional test panel with fentanyl is also available.

Why Test for Xylazine?

In a public safety alert posted on the DEA website, the DEA warns xylazine is making the deadliest drug threat faced by the U.S, even deadlier. Xylazine and fentanyl mixtures in powder and pill forms have been seized by the DEA in 48 of 50 states. According to a New York Times article dated Jan 7, 2023, 90% of Philadelphia’s lab-tested dope samples were positive for xylazine.

Xylazine is a non-opioid veterinary tranquilizer that is often added to illicit drugs in an effort to lengthen the primary drugs euphoric effects.  Because xylazine is a sedative and not an opioid, it cannot be detected by a standard opioid drug testing panel. Additionally, the effects of xylazine cannot be reversed by naloxone (Narcan). People who inject drug mixtures containing Xylazine may develop severe wounds, including necrosis, which may lead to amputation.
