Will albuterol inhalers cause a positive breath alcohol test?

Will albuterol inhalers cause a positive breath alcohol test?

There is no alcohol in albuterol inhalers, so there should be no reaction to a breath alcohol test.  Even if there was a cross reaction to something in the inhaler, the contamination of the mouth from a spray would be gone in five minutes or less, which is what we see with Binaca.  So, even though we don’t believe there is anything in albuterol inhalers that will create a positive breath alcohol test, even if there was something in the inhaler that might be detected with a breath alcohol test, the contamination of the mouth would be very temporary – no more than five minutes.  Any positive test after five minutes after using an albuterol inhaler could not be attributed to the inhaler.
