What is a Shy Bladder?

Shy bladder is the term used to describe a situation where the donor is unable to produce a sufficient amount of urine for a DOT drug test.  In a DOT drug test, a donor must supply the Collector with at least 45 mL of urine.  If the donor is unable to supply the minimum amount, the Specimen Collector must start the procedures for a Shy Bladder collection.
