Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over National Impaired Driving Enforcement Crackdown August 17 – September 3, 2012
Impaired driving is one of America’s most often committed and deadliest crimes. All 50 States, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico have established a threshold making it illegal to drive with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 grams per deciliter or higher. Yet 10,228 people died in 2010 in traffic crashes in which at least one vehicle driver or motorcycle rider had a BAC of .08 or higher. But your enforcement efforts can help reduce the number of impaired drivers on the roads and save lives in 2012!
In an effort to get impaired drivers off the road, raise public awareness about the dangers of impaired driving, and most importantly, to save more lives on our roadways, the national impaired-driving enforcement crackdown “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” will be held from mid-August through Labor Day 2012.
